Most universities ask for proof of English. The right test depends on where you are applying, your visa route and how you perform under different formats.
IELTS
The most widely accepted test. Choose IELTS Academic for university admission; some visa routes require a specific version, so check with your counsellor first.
PTE Academic
A computer-based test with fast results, accepted by many institutions — popular with students applying to Australia and the UK.
TOEFL iBT
Widely recognised by universities, especially in North America and Europe.
Duolingo English Test
An online test you can take from home. Accepted by a growing number of institutions, but not for every visa route.
